Key Actor Responsible For Chibok Girls Abduction Arrested

SaharaReporters reports: A terrorists’ intelligence cell headed by a businessman who participated actively in the abduction of School Girls in Chibok has been busted by troops. The man, Babuji Ya’ari who is also a member of the Youth Vigilante Group popularly known as Civilian JTF which he uses as cover while remaining an active terrorist, also spearheaded the murder of the Emir of Gwoza.

His main role in the group is to spy and gather information for the terrorists group. Babuji has been coordinating several deadly attacks in Maiduguri since 2011, including the daring attacks on Customs and military locations as well as the planting of IEDs in several locations in the town.

The arrest of the businessman who is known to deal in tricycles has also yielded some vital information and facilitated the arrest of other members of the terrorists’ intelligence cell who are women. One of them, Hafsat Bako had earlier escaped to Gombe State to avoid suspicion but was tracked and arrested. Prior to her arrest, Hafsat coordinated the payment of other operatives on the payroll of the group. In her confession, she disclosed that a minimum of N10,000 is paid to each operative depending on the enormity of his task.

Another female suspect named Haj Kaka who doubles as an armourer and a spy for the terrorists group has also been arrested. Until their arrest, all the suspects  actively operated a terrorists’ intelligence cell in collaboration with others still at large.

In another development, troops deployed in Goniri, Yobe State, over the weekend, had an encounter with terrorists, resulting in casualties on both sides after the attack was successfully repelled.

Adokiye Fights Back Critics

Singer cum actress, Adokiye, fights back her numerous critics on twitter. If you've not been under a rock before now, you would be aware of her supposed "love" for the abducted Chibok girls who were abducted over two months ago by the Boko Haram sect.

Adokiye who openly offered sex to members of the Boko Haram sect in exchange for the freedom of the over 200 girls has received numerous criticisms from the public.

My personal questions for her: does good come out of evil? Can two wrongs make a right?

Here are her tweets:

Bonanza! Bonanza!! Bonanza!!! Maids For Sale!

I was pricked when i saw this. Human beings displayed in showrooms as though they are Gucci bags or some colourful stilettos.

Aljazeera reposts: In Singapore, maids are put on display and made available for ' purchase' in central shopping malls.

Go to the Bukit Timah Shopping Centre , a 1970s mall in central Singapore, and you will find five levels of brightly lit rooms and galleries called "Homekeeper" and "Budget Maid". Inside these rooms, dozens of women sit in a listless , artificial silence. They nod respectfully as you enter , and some watch closely as you speak to staff. You might take one home with you for two years, or longer.

The women, domestic workers, come from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar. They sit beneath garish signs and posters, testifying to their friendliness and industriousness, or advertising "super promo" rates and "special discounts". Some "maid agencies", as they' re known locally, display women at work.

Along one aisle, domestic workers push each other around in wheelchairs, as though they're taking care of the elderly. In another gallery, a woman cradles a baby doll and pretends to change its diapers. Others stand in mock living rooms ironing the same shirt, or making the same bed - scenes enacted elsewhere in Singapore at malls like Katong Shopping Centre on Mountbatten Road.

Jolovan Wham, executive director of the Humanitarian Organisation of Migration Economics (HOME), a migrant workers advocacy group based in Singapore , said that some agencies market their domestic workers like" commodities". He adds that
racial stereotypes are sometimes used in transactions with patrons. "Some of the stereotypes include Filipinos as 'smarter', Indonesians as 'less bright' and Burmese as 'sweet-natured and compliant'."

National Confab Approves State Police

Delegates of the National Confab have on Thursday unanimously approved the establishment of state police by any of the 36 states which is desirous of it.

PM News reports: There have been numerous calls for the establishment of state police following the current unwieldly arrangement where state governors as the chief security officers of their states do not have control over the police which is controlled by the Federal Government appointed Inspector-General of Police.

Among the strong advocates of state police are the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State and others.

Tinubu had sometime ago in Chicago, USA, blamed the current spate of insecurity in the country on the reluctance of the Federal Government to share security responsibility with the nation’s constituent parts.

This monopolisation of security control, he said in a paper entitled: ‘Nigerian and the Search for True Federalism,’ has turned Nigeria into one of the most dangerous places on earth.

Citing the Boko Haram menace, Asiwaju Tinubu said: “Because it wants to acquire power and not lose any, the national government has adamantly opposed any decentralisation of internal security. The result has been that Nigeria is becoming one of the most dangerous places on earth. Not only do we have Boko Haram, there is growing insecurity and blatant unchecked criminality in other parts of the nation.

“The roots of these security challenges have mostly local origins. A centralised structure, however, tends to deploy security officials and units with insufficient knowledge and understanding of local issues.

“Instead of helping, the security personnel often worsen the situation because of their lack of knowledge. Community policing has proven effective in many different social conditions around the world. It is an idea whose time has come for Nigeria. However, it cannot be applied purposefully under the current security structure. Thus, our security apparatus remains big but uninformed.”

Those in support of state police argue that Nigeria with a population of about 170 million is too large to be controlled by a federal police with headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

They suggest the American model where there are federal police along with state police and county police, National Guard and several others at various levels.

BREAKING NEWS: Bomb Blast In Abuja

There has been a bomb blast in Abuja few hours ago. The bomb which exploded at around 4pm took off the popular Emab Plaza at Wuse II.

This has caused upheaval in the area as scores of lifeless body and blood surround the scene of the blast.

Reporters have confirmed that customers of the mall are still trapped in the burning building.

How To End It

For the One who wants to break free from pornography:

First of all i want you to realize how much God loves you, He really loves you irrespective of what you've done and actually, He's been waiting for that moment when you will genuinely want freedom because He's been longing to help you. The realization that you need help from Him is the first and greatest step towards your freedom.

Secondly, i want you to know that you can actually break free from it, don't let the devil make you believe it's impossible, you weren't born with it in the first place so reject the devil's deception. Your real self doesn't know a thing about porn.

Thirdly, if you are born again, then you've got all it takes to break free from it.

Lastly, i want you to be sincere  about your decision to forsake it, you really have to because if you don't, what am about to share with you will just be a bunch of irrelevant rules. However, you have to be serious about it regardless.

Here are a few things you can do:

1. Identify and get rid of the various avenues that make you come in contact with it. For example, you can begin by deleting nude pictures from your gadgets if you have them, or videos.

2. Then if you used to go online to watch them, you have to delete your browser too. This may appear rather radical but it is the way out. All of this takes determination and discipline.

3. Pray for God's inner strength to resist the urge (because it's an addiction)

4. Fill your heart with God's word.

5. Desist from friends who are immoral, they may lure you into it again, associate with people whose lives you can emulate.

6. Have a mentor (a pastor, perhaps) over you who you hold in high esteem and can be accountable to.

7. Whenever the urge comes, try to avoid being alone, it will be the best time to visit another child of God ( preferably a brother, if you are a guy too).

8. Trust Him! My genuine prayer for you is that at the end of the day, you will become a muse to others who have the same problem because you overcame.

BREAKING NEWS: Bomb Blast In Kano

Vanguard reports that scores are feared dead this afternoon at the premises of Kano School of Health Technology located along Gida Murtala–BUK Road.

The high calibre improvised explosive device went off around 2pm at a time the school is in session.

Kano police spokesman Magaji Magia confirmed the blast but declined to provide details until he reached the scene.

I'm Addicted To Porn! Help!

I met with my younger brother's friend who is currently into pornography FULL TIME. Although, he wants out, yet like every other addiction it's harder to end than begin. This is what he told me:

I first came across pornography at age 9. It was a magazine I found around the compound, it seemed very interesting so i continued. I graduated into porn videos when i got into secondary school then masturbation showed up when i got into the university.

Long story short, bros i don tire. I can't think straight when i'm with the opposite sex. I do it anytime i'm done watching musical videos. What annoys me the most is that it's affecting the way i see my female folks. I lust after then even when i don't want to.

I really need help man, he said with so much fury.

Take My Virginity And Release The Girls - Adokiye

So i found this really fascinating as Pop singer, Adokiye, recently revealed she is a virgin and she's ready to forgo her virginity for the release of the abducted chibok girls.

The singer of Imo descent who is a peace ambassador told Vanguard:

“This is 11pm in the night and do you know what I am thinking about? Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them. It is just unfair. They are too young. I wish I could offer
myself in exchange. They are between 12 and 15 year old girls for Christ sake. I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don’t care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents.”

Seriously!?! She would have sex with the dreadful Boko Haram members?

Brave and Interesting!!!

Etcetera Dis On-Air Personalities

Etcetera is back again with another thought provoking article. As an OAP that i am, i'd reserve my comments for now. savor!

Radio is in a period where only the ‘blings’ and ‘blingers’ are getting all the attention. This must be the worst time to listen to radio in Nigeria. Consider some of the on-air-personalities, all they do is talk about what their favourite celebrities are wearing.

How easily manipulated and distracted can they be? A fake accent has never been more glorified than today. With on-air-personalities chasing celebrity status themselves, radio listeners are never going to get any unbiased assessment of issues.

The few independent thinkers amongst them who provide this unbiased assessment are being mocked and called boring people. How do you listen to an OAP on radio who only talks about cars, money and women for hours?

It is becoming a consensus on the streets that naija radio stations are becoming more boring with each passing day. And I find it really sickening hearing the cry from radio station owners about how more and more people are turning to Alaba mix and blogs for their music these days. Even the local tea sellers on the street prefer their MP3 compilation of songs than listening to any FM station. Most songs played on the radio today do not excite listeners.

No one turns on the radio anymore hoping to hear great songs he heard some days before. People love moods, melodies and lyrics that mean something and you can’t get those on radio anymore.

Nigerian on-air-personalities have become so lazy for their own good. They don’t go in search of new sound anymore. All they do now is sit and wait for songs to be brought to them, subjecting their listeners to the same old songs played over and over.

Yes we know that the radio industry is run by corporate sponsors who play it safe so as not to offend the listeners. However, what they have ended up doing is offending tasteful listeners. Most artistes on the radio have better songs on their album but radio stations decide what is “radio friendly” and keep serving the same song over and over because it works for them.
Few days ago, while returning to the mainland with a friend, we heard one of the new naija dance songs playing on the radio.

My friend turned and said to me, “The music just keeps getting worse and worse, doesn’t it?” I totally agreed. I understand enough about music to know that if a song receives a lot of spins on the radio, it becomes boring. This makes me wonder most times why a lot of great naija songs we hear on the streets on a daily basis are not getting played on the radio.

Listeners are really getting fed up with the repetitive songs played on the radio these days. The playlist of most OAPs has become so predictable that someone told me the sequence of songs to expect on the drive on one of our popular radio stations. The songs were played exactly as predicted.

Though, radio has always played crappy songs, the problem is today’s songs smell the same across the stations. What we are mostly fed with are mostly noisy songs with over-processed vocals. Greed has permeated every aspect of radio. Now, it is just about looking to latch on to mega bucks and in turn promote the same tried-and-trusted mediocrity. And the more mediocre the song, the better and the more guaranteed return for the OAP.

Some music stakeholders I spoke with are of the opinion that the lack of musical imagination in Nigeria is solely the fault of the homogenized mainstream radio stations.

I feel sad for the so many gifted unknown artistes out there who are writing and making great music, but our radio stations are too busy to care about them. It’s like the radio stations are bent on moulding us all into some kind of morphed audio mind, jammed into an external cycle of repetition. I am also an OAP and I truly don’t know how to talk about this with being perceived as sounding biased.

It saddens my heart seeing that the talented young artistes put so much effort into making quality songs only to struggle through all the crap we are fed with everyday on the radio. I guess they just have to look for other ways of channeling their good stuff to those who appreciate it.

It is really becoming more difficult to find a radio station that won’t bend to popular demand, money or play the music for any other reason than what it truly is. I used to enjoy listening to the radio so much a few years back but can’t tell now whether I am just growing older or today’s music is sounding worse.

The problem is that most OAPs hold themselves in one single genre. To be honest, some on-air-personalities need to stop forcing everyone to live in their own world.

Get off your weird accent swing and give other songs a chance and stop repeating the same songs all the time. In conclusion, if today’s Nigerian music is a mess, artistes are not totally to blame. The radio stations and OAPs are equally culpable. We may not necessarily need to demand more from the popular artistes.

There is still plenty of good music being made everyday by not so popular artistes. The problem is the radio stations will only play the songs that fits into their very narrow parameters. Even if an artiste creates a brilliant album with emotion and depth, they can only get airplay with only the so-callbed “radio friendly” single. We need to demand more from radio.

Thanks to Alaba market DJ mixes, Nigerians can always find new artistes and music they like.

What a long ride. Share your thoughts.

Malia Obama Run Errands For Haley Berry And Crew

TMZ has reported that one of White House daughters has been running errands for Haley Berry and the "Extant" crew.

Malia Obama, 15, got very little special treatment during her week-long stint as a production assistant of Haley's TV show.

We're told Malia spent most of her day going on runs for coffee and drinks for the cast of the new Halle Berry TV show "Extant".

She also helped the crew by blocking people from walking through scenes during shooting.

However, Malia Obama, first daughter of Barack Obama did get something not even Halle Berry got -- Secret Service protection.

Hmmm. She's leaving her dreams and paying her dues too.

Woman Burns Her Ex To Death In Edo State

PHOTO: THE NATION

A 35 -year old woman, Esohe Ogbeiwi, has been arrested by the police in Edo State for allegedly
roasting her ex-lover, Peter Osayi, to death.

She reportedly poured fuel on the victim and set him on fire. The suspect had two children for the deceased.

THE NATION reports that:
Family members told journalists that the deceased had a dispute with the suspect and she later invited him for settlement. It was at the point of settlement that she allegedly poured fuel on her ex-lover and lit a match.

Peter was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) and died a day later. Esohe was subsequently arrested and the case has been transferred to the homicide department.

A brother to the victim, who gave his name as Moses said, “We want government to give us justice. He was roasted alive. My brother told me before his death not to allow the girl escape.”

Police spokesman, Uwoh Noble, confirmed the incident and said investigations were still on.

I won't be so fast to castigate the young woman, rather i'd beg to know what the deceased did that precipitated his death.

Kanye And Kim Refuse 11m Dollars For Wedding Photos

PHOTO: Jackson Lee/Splash News

Before i unravel the juice, allow me scream like ace comedian, Kevin Hart. whaaat da F****!!!!! Okay, am aiit.. am aiit.

According to Channel 24, The Bound 2 rapper and his new wife Kim Kardashian - with who he has 12-month old daughter North - were offered over $11m to publish pictures of their nuptials in Florence, Italy, last month in publications across the globe, but decided to keep the rights and control of the images themselves, much to the unhappiness of the showbiz matriarch, who, as her daughter's manager, would have gained a percentage of sales for herself.

A source told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "Kris was none too happy. "Kanye is taking a page from Jay Z and Beyonce, who own their photos."

Another source admitted Kris (Kim Kardashian's mother) had nothing to do with Kim's decision to refuse all offers for the photographs, which she and Kanye have opted to release themselves through their social media accounts.

My personal ish is what is this take-after-your-step thing Kanye has with Jay Z. Who rejects a whole $11m. Nna that is 1,760,000,000 naira o.

PayPal To Launch In Nigeria

Everyone who use PayPal knows the platform helps payments and money transfers to be made through the Internet.

According to  Business Day, PayPal is entering 10 new countries this week, including Nigeria, providing online payment alternatives for consumers via mobile phones or PCs in markets often blighted by financial fraud.

Rupert Keeley, the executive in charge of the EMEA region of PayPal, the payments unit of eBay Inc, said in an interview on Monday the expansion would bring the number of countries it serves to 203.

Starting on Tuesday, consumers in Nigeria, which has 60 million users and has Africa’s largest population, along with nine other markets in sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America will be able to make payments through PayPal.

“PayPal has been going through a period of reinvention, refreshing many of its services to make them easier to use on mobile (phones),
allowing us to expand into fast-developing markets,” Keeley said.

Once the services go live, customers in the 10 countries with access to the Web and a bank card
authorised for Internet transactions will be able to register for a PayPal account and make payments to millions of sites worldwide.

Initially, PayPal is only offering “send money” services for consumers to pay for goods and
services at PayPal-enabled merchant sites while safeguarding their financial details. This is free to consumers and covered by fees it charges merchants.

“We think we can give our sellers selling into this market a great deal of reassurance,” said Keeley, a former regional banking executive with Standard Chartered Plc and senior executive with payment card company Visa Inc.

PayPal does not yet cover peer-to-peer transactions, which allow consumers to send money to other consumers. It has not yet enabled local merchants in the new markets to receive payments, nor is it offering other forms of banking services, he said.

Now i think this is so cool.

Jay Jay Okocha Blames Keshi For Iran Draw

PHOTO: GETTY IMAGES

Nigeria took on Iran Yesterday and the match ended in a goalless draw leaving both teams with one point each.

Meanwhile, the football legend, Austin Okocha, who was an analyst for supersport yesterday blamed Keshi for the outcome of the game.

Jay Jay complained about Keshi's removal of Victor Moses for Ameobi saying, “His changes were poor. He took out Moses and brought in Ameobi. I think that was a wrong change. Okocha also said, Keshi should be held responsible for the way the team played.

However, super eagles coach Steven Keshi said the super eagles did their best against Iran.

So-far-so-go, the Group F table stands thus, Argentina -3 points, Nigeria - 1 point, Iran - 1 point and Bosnia - 0 point.

My Opinion: #BringBackOurBoys.. chai chai chai.. There's Argentina o.. lol

Pope Refuses To Ride In Bullet-proof Popemobile

Pope Francis is on the news again for refusing to ride in bullet-proof Popemobile.

According to the clergyman, the bullet-proof Popemobile is more or less a "sardine can" and it restricts him from interacting with the people.

Pope Francis admitted that: "It's true that anything could happen, but let's face it, at my age I don't have much to lose."

The Argentinian Pope has opted to use open-top cars in contrast to his predecessor, Benedict XVI.  The Telegraph reported.

Petition Charged Against Jay Z And Beyoncé

A petition has been filed against Jay Z and Beyoncé, parents of Blue Ivy.

The petition was made on the change.org website which is a website for advocating social change in the world.

This petition was created with the title "Comb Her Hair" by one of the critics, Jasmine Toliver. The petition reads:

"As a woman who understands the importance of hair care. It's disturbing to watch a child suffering from the lack of hair moisture. The parents of Blue Ivy. Sean Carter a.k.a Jay Z and Beyoncé have failed at numerous attempts of doing Blue Ivy's hair. This matter has escalated to the child developing matted dreads and lint balls. Please let's get the word out to properly care for Blue Ivy hair".

If you would allow me, i'd ask my question in this tone "WETIN CONSINE YOU JASMINE". Okay, i had to do that.
